Chickens

A roasted Madgett’s Farm chicken is in a class of its own, nothing like a supermarket bird. Even better are the cold chicken sandwiches made with the left overs (if you have any).

We raise free range White Cobb chickens, taking them at four weeks old and sending them straight out to range.

We feed them on our own special blend of home grown feed which is GM and additive free. No growth promoters are used. As the chickens are free range they also forage across the pasture for grubs and the grit which helps with their digestion. We process the chickens between 16 and 20 weeks and hang them for two days. Our birds weigh in from 1.8kgs (4lbs) up to 5.45kgs (12lbs). If you require a large bird please telephone in advance. Portions are also available.
