Turkeys

We raise both white turkeys and the exceptional bronze turkey exclusively for the Christmas period. The chicks arrive in the first week of July and spend 4-5 weeks out of the weather in heated barns. The bronze turkeys then go out to range for the next 24 weeks. During this time they are fed our own feed and what they forage for themselves.

We process the birds just before Christmas. They are plucked using a dry wax system and then hung for seven days to allow the flavours to develop. Turkey weights range from about 4.5kgs (10lbs) to 9kgs (20lbs). Demand for our turkeys is high, so we recommend ordering in advance by phone, fax, or email. You can also let us know your requirements by visiting us at one of our farmers market stalls.
